KPK Organizes Fun Walk Event to Commemorate 2022 Anti-Corruption Day

DINAMIKA SULTRA.COM, JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held a fun walk at Gelora Bung Karno sport stadium area, here, Sunday, to commemorate the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day.

Chief of KPK Firli Bahuri noted that the activity aimedto continue to cultivate the spirit of anti-corruption.

“We will start this movement and we will continue our struggle with ‘Indonesia Recovers, Unites Against Corruption’,” he remarked here on Sunday.

“We will continue to eradicate corruption until Indonesia is free from grafts,” he added.

In addition to Bahuri, Deputy Chiefs of KPK Alexander Marwati, Nurul Ghufron and Johanis Tanak as well as all KPK officials attended the activity. The officials’ families also participated in the event.

Earlier, KPK held the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day function at Bidakara Hotel, here, Friday, with the theme “Indonesia Recovers, Unites Against Corruption” and it was opened by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.

In his remark, Amin noted that corruption is a phenomenon with an extraordinarily destructive power. The impact of corruption can reduce life quality, ruin democracy, hinder development and destroy the law.

To this end, corruption became an extraordinary crime that caught the world’s attention, he continued.

Indonesia’s struggle caused by a variety of new challenges in economic, political, social and environmental sectors can only be handled if the country implements a clean and good governance free from corruption, he said.

Through the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day, KPK expects that collective effort in eradicating corruption can significantly reduce the corruption rate in Indonesia.

“I have a very high expectation that one day we will see corruption as a past phenomenon and our civilization will live in a world free from corruption,” Bahuri remarked.(ds/antara)
